Request Your Military Service Records [1]

  • Military personnel records can include DD 214s/Separation Documents, service personnel records found within the Official Military Personnel File (OMPF), and medical records. Military personnel records can be used for proving military service or as a valuable tool in genealogical research. Please note that NPRC holds historical Military Personnel Records of nearly 100 million veterans. The vast majority of these records are paper-based and not available on-line.

The Veterans Home sits on a 31 acre bluff overlooking the Sinclair Inlet.The 60-bed transitional housing facility is available to assist those in need of stable housing, vocational rehabilitation, and increased income potential. Veterans are surrounded with supportive staff and wrap-around services designed to lead to their successful completion of the program and a successful return to the community.

  • At Adams State University, we know how important education is to all individuals, especially for those who happen to be incarcerated. Through correspondence courses, Adams State University provides an opportunity for incarcerated students to work for college credit and towards a degree.

American Legion Temporary Financial Assistance [24]

  • TFA is limited to minor children (17 years or younger) whose biological parent, or legal guardian, is a veteran and is, or would have been, eligible for American Legion membership.


King County Veterans Program [25]

MDC Tacoma Veteran Services [29]

  • Funded by the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program was founded upon the principle that every Veteran has a right to housing. By providing support at a community level we can end homelessness among the Veteran population. Through outreach, case-management services, assistance in obtaining benefits and emergency financial resources, the SSVF Program seeks to prevent Veterans and their families from becoming homeless and seeks rapid rehousing for those who have lost their homes. Veteran Services serves singles, traditional family units, and non-traditional family units. Whatever the veteran deems as their household, is who we will serve.

Catholic Community Services

  • (King County)Michael’s Place offers 18 beds of transitional housing for veterans experiencing homelessness. The program serves men 18 and older who are eligible for Grant Per Diem transitional housing through the Veterans Administration Puget Sound Health Care System (VA Hospital) Community Housing & Outreach Services program. Michael’s Place offers onsite support to assist Veterans in finding a permanent place to call home.[38]

Pioneer Human Services Veterans Housing [48]

  • The Mark Cooper House provides homeless veterans who are living with substance use disorders, mental health issues and criminal histories the tools they need to rebuild their lives so that they can successfully transition to permanent housing.
  • Pioneer’s Victory House is located in downtown Spokane, Washington and provides housing and support services to homeless veterans who are living with substance use disorders, mental health and medical issues, and criminal histories. Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association Volunteer Legal Services [49]

  • Do you have a legal issue in Pierce County but no money to hire an attorney? Volunteer Legal Services can help with civil legal issues in Pierce County when you cannot afford to hire an attorney. Vancouver Housing Authority

  • Vancouver Housing Authority offers several programs and resources to help low-income families, elderly, and disabled in Clark County find housing that they can afford. Getting started can be a challenge, but we are here to help you find the resources you need. You may qualify for one or more housing assistance programs. It is best to begin with the program that best describes your situation. For example, veterans should get in touch with the Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) program, and people with chronic illness should learn more about our Special Needs housing program. Section 8 and Subsidized Housing programs are available for qualified applicants in our area. Other housing is available for low-income families and individuals even if you do not qualify for Section 8 vouchers or our subsidized housing programs. You may be able to find affordable housing in Clark County that you qualify for based on your income or situation.
