Our tribe was formed in 1866 incorporating members of Lower Chehalis, Shoalwater Bay and Chinookan people. As a small but strong tribe, we strive to keep our language, culture and economic health active and viable. While very connected to our past, Shoalwater Bay tribal members work to expand our influence and increase awareness of our tribal culture while improving our health and way of life.

• Mission Statement: To provide high quality, compassionate, culturally sensitive, comprehensive health care for American Indian and Alaska Native people. The Shoalwater Bay Tribe, following its tradition and spirit of giving and sharing, also extends services to meet the health care needs of the non-Native individuals residing in the surrounding community who otherwise would have difficulty accessing care in this isolated rural area.

• The Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe’s Social Service’s Department is a multi-faceted department which includes a number of diverse programs and offerings. We are on call 24 hours / 7 days per week to respond to Tribal Members needs.

• The Shoalwater Bay Tribal Community Library and Museum is now located underneath the North Cove Bar and Grill Restaurant and next door to Georgetown Station and will now be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10-6pm. We have a large collection of books on native people of the West Coast and across the U.S., along with many reference materials for our community which might not be readily available elsewhere. Throughout the year we also have community and children programs, both educational and enjoyable. For example: book signing from local authors, concerts, assorted crafts, etc.
