Rural Resources Community Action [1]

  • Since 1965, Rural Resources Community Action has helped residents of Northeastern Washington help themselves and each other. Lavender Rights Project Trans Advocacy in Rural Places (TARP) [19]

  • The Trans Advocacy in Rural Places program builds community knowledge, legal skills and grassroots power for the legal self-sufficiency and civil rights of transgender, two spirit and gender diverse people who live in rural or geographically isolated areas across Washington state.

    • Get lots of Know Your Rights tip sheets related to trans issues. TARP has example county specific court forms with instructions for how to get name and gender change court orders (including those that require an out of state birth certificate update).
  • TARP Whitman County [21]
    • Fill-able court forms, example documents and thorough instructions packets for filing for name changes, gender change recognition orders and out of state birth certificate update orders. Currently adult forms and instructions are available. There are forms for gender change recognition court orders that both include and exclude a birth certificate update.
