DRAFTING - WORK IN PROGRESS

Both a theoretical "way in" and a framework for planning, implementation and evaluation.

Domain

  • What we care about learning and doing (focus)

Community

  • Who we do it with (relationship, trust...)
  • What do we/they need?
  • Motivation
  • Participation
  • Identity
    • Professional and Personal
    • Online implications (This is Me as resource? http://thisisme.reading.ac.uk/ Could adapt it for LIbrarians? I have a small volunteer team working on this already for use in the UK and we can also use it. It is creative commons. We are just getting started, but I can share the Google doc if any of you are interested. )
  • Privacy (Open or Closed)
  • Things that aren't community

Practice

  • How we peer learn together (methods, tools, etc.)
  • How we carry it into our own work/practice

Not Exactly "Community" -- Networks and Social Networking

Resources

  • One sheet on CoPs with key links (lots of great existing resources)
  • Stephen Dale's excellent PPT on CoPs on SlideShare http://www.slideshare.net/stephendale/cop-conversations-to-collaboration-presentation
